LPPM ITB collaborates with the Design Ethnography Lab. ITB FSRD manages a speech title entitled Karsa Loka Vol. 003. with a theme related to a sustainable waste management system in a rural context.

We will present Mohamad Bijaksana Junerosano or Kang Sano to explain the root causes of solid waste problems that actually occur in Indonesia. Through a “systems thinking” approach, he will discuss solutions and steps that can be taken by each related party. The topic of “Sustainable Waste Management Systems in Rural Contexts” is a reflection of the journey of the Greeneration Indonesia initiative that has been running for 15 years in fighting for the issue of solid waste in Indonesia.

Mohamad Bijaksana Junerosano obtained his bachelor’s degree from Environmental Engineering, Bandung Institute of Technology. After graduating, he founded PT. Greneeration Indonesia in 2005, which is a non-profit organization focused on waste problems. Currently he is the Managing Director of Wasteforchange Alam Indonesia, and is also active in various organizations such as members of the National Waste Management Advisory Council and Steering Committee, and initiated the Indonesian Plastic Bag Diet Movement. Karsa Loka Vol. 003 will be moderated by Meirina Triharini, Ph.D.
