ITB Scholarship Program Launching and Scholarship Submission from Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center

Tuesday, 17 November 2020, Rector of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) Prof. Reini Wirahadikusumah MSCE., Ph.D., opened as well as inaugurated the Bandung Institute of Technology Scholarship Program Launching and the “Dato ‘Low Tuck Kwong – Purnomo Yusgiantoro Scholarship” & amp; “Purnomo Yusgiantoro – Dato” Low Tuck Kwong Scholarship which is held online. In his speech, Prof. Reini expressed his gratitude and was very proud of the strong family culture of ITB which will be continued by ITB alumni.

 

There were 2 scholarships awarded on this occasion, namely “Dato” Low Tuck Kwong – Purnomo Yusgiantoro Scholarship “& amp; “Purnomo Yusgiantoro – Dato” Low Tuck Kwong Scholarship. This scholarship was delivered to ITB through the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Foundation or commonly known as the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center.

 

Dato ‘Low Tuck Kwong & amp; Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center gave a donation of 100 billion to ITB, of which 50 billion was used for the construction of the XVII laboratory building and 50 billion was used as an endowment fund, the proceeds were used for scholarships. Currently, 1.9 billion of available funds will be distributed to 174 outstanding students from 5 faculties and 9 study programs.

 

Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC) is a non-profit organization that focuses on independent and in-depth research to provide policy solutions and / or recommendations in the field of energy and natural resource research at the local, national and global levels.

 

PYC also focuses on solutions to solve problems and challenges in the energy and natural resources sector that have a significant impact on sustainable development in Indonesia. To achieve this goal, PYC provides solutions through various independent research projects, seminars, workshops, conferences, and collaborations with government and / or private institutions in various studies / research related to energy and natural resources.

 

In the social field, PYC holds various events aimed at helping people in the fields of health, welfare and education. In addition, he is also actively involved in promoting local and regional cultural heritage to preserve Indonesian traditional culture.

 

Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC) is chaired by Filda C. Yusgiantoro (Chemical Engineering ’98), Inka B. Yusgiantoro on the supervisory board, and Prof. Purnomo Yusgiantoro, Ir., M.Sc., M.A., Ph.D. (Petroleum Engineering ’70) itself on the supervisory board.
