This makes Indonesia the global center of marine biodiversity, as well as the second largest marine fishery commodity producer in the world after China. The role of science and technology is indispensable for sustainable fisheries management. One of them is the need for the latest technology for fisheries monitoring and surveillance (Fisheries Monitoring and Surveillance).

 

The Djuanda Declaration was initiated on December 13, 1957 by the then Prime Minister of Indonesia, Djuanda Kartawidjaja (Technische Hoogeschool te Bandoeng 1929) is a declaration stating to the world that the Indonesian sea is including the surrounding seas, between and within the Indonesian archipelago into one unified territory of the Republic of Indonesia.
