ITB Industrial Engineering Alumni Association (Avanti) and Ministry of Manpower Successfully Hold Productivity Summit

Around 700 participants attended the Indonesia Productivity Summit 2025, organized by the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia in collaboration with the ITB Industrial Engineering Alumni Association (Avanti) at the JIEXPO Convention Center and Theater, Kemayoran, Jakarta, on Friday (12 December 2025).

Carrying the theme “Driving Innovation, Productivity, and Human Capital: Indonesia’s Path to Global Competitiveness 2045,” the forum served as a cross-sector collaboration platform involving government, business, academia, and professional communities to strengthen the national productivity ecosystem toward Indonesia Emas 2045. The event was designated as a strategic agenda of the Ministry of Manpower through the Directorate General of Vocational Training and Productivity Development.

Minister of Manpower Yassierli emphasized that productivity is a key driver of economic growth, human capital development, and global competitiveness. Ministry data show that Indonesia’s labor productivity in 2022 stood at approximately USD 26.6 thousand per worker, below the ASEAN average of around USD 30.2 thousand per worker.

According to Yassierli, these challenges are influenced by the workforce structure, with 85–86 percent of workers having a maximum education level of senior high school, as well as the high proportion of informal workers, which remains at around 60 percent. To address this, the government will strengthen a bottom-up approach through direct interventions at the company level, complementing top-down policies such as industrialization and downstream development.
