ITB Alumni Gathering Encourages Innovation and Collaboration Toward National Energy Self-Sufficiency

The Directorate of Alumni Relations and Career Development of ITB attended the ITB Alumni Gathering held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the 3rd Floor Auditorium of the Main Building of PLN Headquarters, Jalan Trunojoyo, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. The event was organized by the ITB Alumni Association D9X and received strong enthusiasm from alumni across various year groups.

Carrying the theme “Electricity Self-Sufficiency: Weaving the Future of Indonesia’s Power Sector Through Innovation and Collaboration,” the gathering featured three keynote speakers:

– Brian Yuliarto: Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia
– Sigit Puji Santosa: Chief Technology Officer of Danantara
– Suroso Isnandar: Director of Project Management and New & Renewable Energy at PT PLN (Persero)

During the presentations, the discussion highlighted the key challenges and strategic opportunities within Indonesia’s power sector, emphasizing the role of innovation, emerging technologies, and cross-sector collaboration in accelerating the nation’s journey toward electricity self-sufficiency.

This gathering marks an initial step for ITB alumni to take tangible roles in supporting the vision of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration regarding national energy independence. The event began with idea-sharing and brainstorming sessions, which will be followed by collaborative actions with the hope that ITB alumni can contribute innovative solutions to strengthen the country’s electricity ecosystem.

Beyond the strategic discussions, the event also served as a platform to strengthen networks among ITB alumni, exchange insights and experiences, and rekindle camaraderie as fellow “anak gajah.” The program was warm, inspiring, and opened new opportunities for future collaboration in developing Indonesia’s energy sector.

As an expression of social concern, this sarasehan included the distribution of donations for victims of the natural disaster in Sumatra. The alumni extended moral and material support as a gesture of solidarity, while strengthening the spirit of mutual cooperation among ITB alumni in helping the affected communities.
