An alumnus of the Chemistry Department, ITB Class of 1995, Dr. rer. nat. Rino Rakhmata Mukti, S.Si., M.Sc., has been awarded the Habibie Prize as a national scientist in the field of Basic Sciences. The award was given in recognition of his contributions to the development of materials chemistry research focused on sustainable solutions in the areas of energy and the environment.

The award is named after Prof. Dr. Ing. H. Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie, the 3rd President of the Republic of Indonesia and former Minister of Research and Technology (1979–1998). Habibie is widely known as a visionary figure who championed science and technology as the driving force of national development, as stated by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), the institution responsible for granting the award.

The Directorate of Alumni Relations and Career Development of ITB was also present to convey congratulations and support to Dr. Rino.
