Thursday, February 18 2020, the Alumni Office had the opportunity to have an online discussion with Dr. Eng. Mirzam Abdurrachman, S.T., M.T., lecturer and alumni of Geology ITB. on this occasion, Dr. Mirzam said that 1 year ago, during 2020, ITB Geology Alumni had held a webinar series with the theme Geology Greeting for the Country as a form of support for Indonesia, the education community and the wider community in general.

The background of this activity is 2 things. First, the desire to be close to the educational and social community makes ITB a place for questions and references for knowledge. Second, the alumni’s longing for the lecturers, for the civitas, so that in order to stay in touch, attend virtually every 2 weeks with topics that are beneficial to the wider community.

In addition to scientific contributions, at this activity the ITB Geology Alumni also collected donations for handling covid and disaster relief as a tangible manifestation that alumni are here to help reduce a little burden on society. On this occasion, on behalf of the ITB Geology Alumni, donations distributed through ITB Peduli accounts amounting to Rp. 14,088,411.

Long-term, ITB Geology Alumni aspire to bridge, make ITB a place for questions and references related to disasters, a place to learn about disasters because there are many sources of disasters in Indonesia. In addition, in the future there will continue to be cooperation, mutual support and contribution between Geology Alumni and ITB.
