IATL Delivered Master Plan for ITB Ganesha Campus Waste Management System

Based on the awareness that good waste management will support the participation of higher education in creating an eco-campus where 5 of the 6 parameters of waste management according to the UI Green Metric standard are waste management, the Environmental Engineering Alumni Association of the Bandung Institute of Technology (IATL ITB) conducted an in-depth study of ITB’s existing conditions and provides a proposal in the form of a Master Plan for the ITB Ganesha Campus Waste Management System to make the ITB campus perform well in environmental management, one of which is waste management.

This program is planned to start in 2020 starting with the preparation stage and preparation of the DED master plan, it is hoped that by 2025 the system can be implemented in all campus zones. In addition, the program is divided into 3 phases, namely short term (2020-2023), medium term (2023-2025), and long term (2025-2030).

In the short-term program, the waste management system will be renewed, starting from containerization to processing at PPS Sabuga by building a pilot zone to conducting education and outreach. In the mid-term program, the ideal system will be implemented throughout the ITB campus, and the long-term program will optimize waste processing by applying residual waste processing technology.

The following are some of the schemes proposed by IATL ITB, starting from the container process to waste processing:

ITB welcomes and gives high appreciation for what alumni who are members of IATL have done. This is a concrete manifestation of the alumni’s contribution/concern for their beloved alma mater.
