The Ministry of Education and Culture through the Directorate of Manpower and Cultural Institutions Development, Directorate General of Culture in 2020 provides cultural awards for individuals, communities and institutions that are considered dedicated, instrumental and contributing to the preservation of Indonesian culture.

There are two categories of awards. First, the title of honor from the President of the Republic of Indonesia consists of all sons, paramadharma cultural stars and cultural plans. Second, the award from the Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture consists of the following categories:

1. Creator, pioneer and reformer
2. Preserver
3. Children and adolescents
4. Regional government
5. Community
6. Maestro of traditional arts
7. Foreign individuals

Dr. Tisna Sanjaya, M.Sch. (Art ’79) received the 2020 Cultural Award for the category of creators, pioneers and reformers, namely an award to someone who creates works of art in the fields of fine arts, dance, music / musical arts, theater / puppetry, literary arts, film arts / multimedia, architectural arts, and fashion. His achievements show the renewal of the creation of works of art that have human values, show pioneering values ​​that become monumental inspiration for society, and contribute to the context of advancement in the art field he is engaged in.
