Prof. Ir. Tutuka Ariadji, M.Sc., Ph.D., IpU. was appointed as Director General of Oil and Gas

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) on Friday, November 6, 2020 appointed the Director General of Oil and Gas (Dirjen Migas) and the Director General of New and Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (Dirjen EBTKE).

 

In the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 176TPA/2020, considering, considering and so on, deciding, first to appoint Prof. Ir. Tutuka Ariadji, M.Sc., Ph.D., IpU. (Petroleum Engineering ’83), as Director General of Oil and Gas (Dirjen Migas) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, starting from the time of the inauguration and the decision of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) came into effect from the date it was set in Jakarta, October 26, 2020.

 

Tutuka Ariadji is a Professor at the Faculty of Mining and Petroleum Engineering ITB in the Oil and Gas Drilling, Production and Management Expertise Group. The man who was born in Solo, August 26, 1964, earned a degree in Petroleum Engineering from ITB (1983-1988), Master of Science Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M Univ., Texas (1991-1994), and Doctor of Philosophy Petroleum Engineering Texas A&M Univ., Texas (1994-1996).

 

Tutuka Ariadji served as Chair of the ITB Professor Forum in 2016-2019.

 

In his remarks during the inauguration ceremony which was broadcast virtually, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif asked the Director General of Oil and Gas Tutuka Ariadji to help him realize a long-term strategic program namely realizing oil production of 1 million barrels per day (bpd) and maintaining the level oil production from existing fields. In addition, he continued, there must be massive oil and gas exploration activities.
