ITB and IA-ITB Yogyakarta Chapter Sign Partnership for “Jogja Plesiride 2025”
Bandung, July 23, 2025 – Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and the Yogyakarta Chapter of the ITB Alumni Association (IA-ITB) officially signed a collaboration agreement today, July 23, 2025, at the Ruang Kreasi Bersama Alumni (RuKA) in Bandung, to organize the upcoming “Jogja Plesiride 2025” event.
This partnership marks a meaningful collaboration between the university and its alumni to host a non-competitive, community-friendly cycling event. Jogja Plesiride, now entering its third edition, is scheduled to take place in Yogyakarta on October 11–12, 2025.
The name “Plesiride” combines plesir (a Javanese word for “leisure travel”) and ride (as in cycling), reflecting the spirit of the event — a blend of physical activity, cultural exploration, and scenic beauty. Unlike a traditional race, Plesiride is designed as a fun ride, with two route options: 100 km and 20 km. The relaxed format allows riders of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy the experience at their own pace.
Beyond promoting a healthy lifestyle and fostering alumni and community connections, Plesiride also carries a social mission. A portion of the proceeds will be contributed to ITB’s Unrestricted Sustainable Fund, channeled through BPUDL ITB, in support of ongoing educational development initiatives at the university.
This partnership represents a shared commitment between the academic community and alumni to the spirit of “Collaboration in Ideas – Action – Solutions”, aligning with ITB’s vision to drive cross-sector synergy for national progress.
