Representatives from IA-ITB Class of 1986 held a meeting with the Director of Alumni Affairs and Career Development at ITB as part of the coordination efforts for the upcoming ITB86 Bidak Ganesha National Student Chess Championship.

This year, IA-ITB Class of 1986 is once again organizing the ITB86 Bidak Ganesha National Student Chess Championship, marking its fifth edition. The event will take place on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the West Hall of ITB, Jalan Ganesa 10, Bandung.

The championship aims to serve as a gathering platform for ITB86 alumni while also presenting a well-organized, safe, and child-friendly national chess competition. Special attention is given to young participants from early childhood education levels such as kindergarten, preschool, and playgroups, by creating a comfortable and enjoyable environment for both the children and their accompanying families. In addition, the event supports the ITB86 G86 Scholarship Program, which has been running consistently since 2016.

This championship provides a valuable opportunity for student chess enthusiasts from across the country to gain competitive experience at a national standard. It also seeks to foster networking among participants, while promoting sportsmanship, creativity, and solidarity. Most importantly, the event serves as a platform to identify and nurture young chess talents from an early age, in the hope of developing a future generation of high-achieving individuals who uphold strong values of integrity.
