LPPM ITB collaborates with the Design Ethnography Lab. FSRD ITB @itbdesignethno manages a talk show entitled Karsa Loka Vol. 002. with a theme related to village and community empowerment.

This time we present a resource person, Harkunti P. Rahayu, Ph.D. winner of the Newton Prize 2019. Harkunti P. Rahayu raised the issue of community preparedness in facing disasters. He will deliver the topic “People-Centered Tsunami Early Warning System” which reflects the results of research experience and implementation in the city of Padang. He collaborates with various stakeholders with elements of the community to prepare the early warning system chain.

Harkunti P. Rahayu, Ph.D. obtained a doctoral degree at the Kochi University of Technology, Japan, and is currently a researcher and lecturer at the School of Architecture, Planning and Policy Development, Bandung Institute of Technology. Ardhana Riswarie, MA will respond to this discussion. who has experience as an Art Therapist for children affected by disasters and a researcher at the Faculty of Art and Design. Karsa Loka Vol. 002 will be moderated by Prananda L. Malasan, Ph.D.
